Entrance at Palazzo D'Avalos without guided tour

This is the self-guided tour: Since 2016, it has finally been open for visitors with a tour route that takes you from the spacious garden to the large rooms with cross vaults and halls, where you can still see the important architecture, but also feel the atmosphere of the prison, especially in the rooms to the left of the entrance, once the royal apartment. Along the staircase leading to the noble floor, you reach the upper loggia, flooded with light: on this floor, the prison is left behind and you can visit the large hall where Cardinal Innico d'Avalos used to receive up to 30 bishops in one of the "synods" he organized. In the last room, besides having extraordinary views and perspectives of the landscape, there is a work by the internationally renowned artist Alfredo Pirri.

Visits take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10.00am to 12.00pm, and in the afternoon at 2.00pm to 6.00pm.
